Manchester United salvaged a last minute draw against F.C. Basel tonight in an entertaining 3-3 result. United had seemed to wrap up the three points within the first twenty minutes when Danny Welbeck scored twice in quick succession to put United 2-0 up. Basel then came back in the second half with two goals from Alexander Frei and Fabian Frei. Sloppy defending from Man United then lead to a penalty to be awarded to Basel which was converted by Alexander Frei for his second of the game and with it a quite remarkable turnaround. However, a 90th minute goal by Ashley Young, his first Champions League goal, rescued a point for United.
