Fred Done Bookmakers

Betfred is a UK based bookmaker named after its co-founder Fred Done. Fred Done bookmakers were first established as a single betting shop in Ordsall, Salford in 1967. Fred Done bookmakers now operate with 700+ shops, 3000 employees and a turnover in excess of £1.5 billion.

During the 2004/05 FA Premier League season Fred Done bookmakers lost £1,000,000 to fellow bookmaker Victor Chandler after betting that Manchester United would finish higher than Chelsea. Chelsea won the league that season finishing 18 points ahead of Man Utd and 12 ahead of nearest rival Arsenal.
